On a beautiful autumn morning, a hen was walking, in a melancholy mood, under a vine, when a ripe grape, loosening itself from its fellows, fell right on the top of her little red crest. In great alarm, she stated running, and nearly bumped into a rooster. “Where are you going in such a hurry, my dear and lovely friend?” he asked sarcastically- - I am going to tell the king that the sky is falling. Just now such a big piece fell on my head, that it is a miracle I was not killed.
